Running

To where do you run,
Quick as you go?
You run to the end
Of your life, you know.

Speeding past instances
Of sorrows and joy,
Tossing them aside
Like a worn-out toy.

Rushing through life
At the speed you're at,
Like you are a mouse,
Being chased by a cat.

But so your life,
It carries on,
Without stopping for
The roses in the lawn.

Faster and faster,
you gain the speed,
And all the lovely things,
you pay no heed.

Thus life is,
Thus you run,
Thus rises
And sets the sun

On a life spent
Running fast away
From the moment of birth,
Your very first day,

Towards the end of this
Quick paced race,
But I beg you, please,
Slow down the pace.

Take a look around,
See what I see,
Step back, wait,
That's what I plea.

All that I ask,
All this is for,
An enjoyment of life
And nothing more.

Ripples

Rain patters down on the sidewalk. It has been raining for some time now, and puddles have already begun to form in between the ever so slight slopes the sidewalk creates. A tiny drop falls, rushing down to an already forming puddle. Though little, the drop of water hits the standing water with such a force that it causes all the water to move. One small drop created ripples.

The same is applied to man. While there are many of us on this planet, it only takes one to make an impact... good or bad. It only takes one to cause a ripple throughout the world. So the question is: How big will your ripples be?
